A Dynamic Program to Build Future Leaders
“The goal of the Emerging Scholars Program is to involve high achieving students in programs designed to enhance your leadership potential, broaden your perspectives, provide an international experience early in your academic career and position you for major scholarship opportunities upon graduation.”
Laurence Peterson, Dean
The Emerging Scholars Program in Science and Mathematics is a distinctive program for students in the College of Science and Mathematics degree programs who have a strong commitment to achieving their full academic potential and have distinguished themselves as leaders inside and outside of the classroom. Over the course of the program, students will have the opportunity for mentorship, public speaking engagements, dialogs with Dean Peterson and other top KSU administrators, as well as local, national, and international civic engagements.
Other program highlights include:
- An Overnight, Off-campus Retreat
- Extracurricular Initiatives and Opportunities
- Scholarship Opportunity Awareness
- National Civic Engagement Trip in December
- International Civic Engagement Trip to Guadalajara, Mexico during Maymester 2010
